As the Sun starts to set earlier and earlier in the winter, it seems that Joy seems harder to grasp.
It was already hard to find it when your job requires complete selflessness.
Do you struggle with finding Joy in your life?
When you go to whatevermoms.com – you’ll notice a tagline underneath the name WhateverMoms. It says, Finding Joy in Everything.
That doesn’t mean Finding Joy comes naturally to me. It means that I struggle to find joy every day. That I don’t like to be without it.
So how do you find it?
How can you find Joy?
#joyprojectIn these days, there is a tendency in social media to post all the best things about yourself, and never the real things. And when we look at Facebook and Instagram and see all the happiness, we struggle with jealousy, depression, longing.
And then we go back to reality and our children wont cooperate. The laundry never seems done. We have to say no for the umpteenth time today.
More depression.
How can we find Joy when there are so many things threatening to take it away from us?
It takes training!
Which is exactly what I did when I found myself in deep depression. I started this challenge for myself – #joyproject
Try out this challenge for a week:
- 1 photo a day.
- Whatever color you want.
- Take a picture of something
- that threatens to steal your Joy
- or that gives you Joy
- Add #joyproject
- Challenge a friend to accept this #joyproject challenge
That’s it! It’s that simple.
What this does is train your mind to find Joy in everyday things.
When your child spills his milk all over the table – #joyproject . When your eldest does something kind to the youngest – #joyproject . When you mess up a project – #joyproject
After awhile, you’ll learn to laugh over these things. You’ll pause.
And start Finding Joy in Everything.
